Hi, I'm Teira, a self-taught artist and the founder of Washed Ashore Art.
I believe every shell that washes ashore is already a small treasure — shaped by years of waves, carrying its own history long before I ever touch it. My work simply gives that treasure a reason to be seen.

Many of the shells I've painted over the years — for myself, for friends, for family — I've collected on walks along the shore with my own family, on the Florida coast I'm blessed to call home. Each one has its own shape and size; no two are ever alike, and each carries the mark of its own story. My painting simply gives them the chance to be seen and appreciated in a new way — and I paint each one with real intention, to create something genuinely original and worth admiring.

I don't see these pieces as simple decoration. I see them as treasures made by the sea, finished by hand to take their place in those special corners of a home — the ones that deserve something with a story of its own, not something mass-produced. That's also why no two pieces are ever the same: there are no two shells alike, and so, no two pieces are ever alike either.

That's the promise behind every piece: an authentic shell, painted with intention and care, ready to become the centerpiece it was always meant to be. I'd love for you to feel, every time you see it in your home, the energy the sea stirs in me — and everything I try to express through my painting.
